Habeo is building the IT asset management and CMDB platform designed specifically for higher education, replacing legacy tools like ServiceNow ITAM with a system that natively understands universities — from GASB depreciation rules to Workday-driven lifecycle events. We're looking for a Frontend Engineer to help build the interfaces that IT asset managers, controllers, and grant administrators rely on every day to run audits, track assets, and trust their data.
This role is 100% remote. Habeo is remote-first and accepts applicants located anywhere in the world.
What you'll do
- Design and build user-facing features for Habeo's asset ledger, CMDB graph viewer, and audit workflows
- Collaborate with design and backend engineers to turn complex institutional data (assets, people, grants, departments) into clear, usable interfaces
- Build and maintain reusable UI components and patterns across the product
- Improve performance, accessibility, and reliability of existing frontend surfaces
- Work closely with product and customers to understand higher-ed workflows and translate them into intuitive screens
- Participate in code review, testing, and release processes to ship confidently and often
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of professional experience building production frontend applications
- Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework such as React
- Experience building data-dense interfaces (tables, graphs, dashboards) that stay fast and clear at scale
- Solid understanding of web fundamentals: HTML, CSS, browser performance, and accessibility
- Comfort working directly with APIs and collaborating closely with backend engineers
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with product and design to shape requirements
Nice to have
- Experience with graph or relationship-based data visualizations
- Familiarity with SSO/SAML integrations or audit-log/immutable-record UI patterns
- Interest in or experience with higher education, compliance-heavy, or enterprise B2B software
